Overview

            The Faculty of Informatics has been established since June 1, 2000. On April 24, 2003 Mahasarakham University Council approved the proposal to officially establish a new faculty with its current title at Mahasarakham University. The faculty’s key responsibility is to upgrade the quality of education in information science in the northeastern region of Thailand by using appropriate teaching methods, empirical research, and educational services.

Philosophy

            Delivering the right information to society using state-of-the-art information technologies, efficient communication and appropriate media to create a pool of knowledge, thus contributing to the creation of a great society of wisdom .

Objectives

            The Faculty of Informatics aims at producing high quality pundits (both undergraduate’s and postgraduate’s degrees), and preparing them to enter the wider society as good moral and ethical human beings.

Vision

            The Faculty of Informatics adopts leading roles in the northeastern region of Thailand as:

  1. Offering high-quality curricula and conduct cutting-edge informatics research.
  2. Providing expertise in informatics to help develop local communities and the learned societies.

Mission

            The Faculty’s mission includes the followings:

  1. Preparing manpower with knowledge, skills, and professional ethics in Informatics for the developemnt of a country.
  2. Upgrading the quality of informatics in northeastern Thailand to international standards.
  3. Developing and applying the knowledge of Informatics for local communities, acdemic communities, and the society through teaching, research and academic services.
